PLACE OF ORIGIN – LIMA
Arrival at scheduled time. Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
LIMA – CUSCO (CITY TOUR)
Transfer from hotel in Lima to the airport. Arrival in Cusco, transfer to the hotel and briefing. In the afternoon we will enjoy a walking City tour of Cusco.
SACRED VALLEY TOUR
After breakfast, pick up from the hotel and we will start the tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In the afternoon we will go back to Cusco and transfer to the hotel.
CUSCO – SOYROQOCHA
We will leave Cusco early in the morning heading to Mollepata in private transportation, 4 hours aprox. The trip will take northwesterly direction, crossing the Pampas de Anta, continuing toLimatambo village, where we will visit the archeological site of Tarawasi. Once we get to Mollepata, we will stop for a short break and then we will continue our journey of 2 hours until Soraypampa (10722ft), where we will have lunch. Our trek begins with a moderate climb to SALKANTAYPAMPA (13625ft), where we have a spectacular view of the Apu Salkantay. We will follow with a steeper slope with wonderful view the snowy, until we reach our camp in Soyroqocha (14715ft). In this camp we can expect a cold night (32 º F or less). The category of the slope is moderate. Overnight.
SOYROQOCHA – COLPAPAMPA
We will wake up when the freezing morning cold is gone and we will start climbing for 45 minutes until the Abra Salkantay, where we will build our apachetas. Then we will begin our descent into Wayrajmachay (12900ft). Next we will head to the Quebrada Humantay until we reach the Colpapampa camp, after approximately 5 hours.
COLPAPAMPA – PLAYA SANTA TERESA
Easy walk day of about 5 hours. We will walk by Santa Teresa river through a forest of native trees. We will pass by beautiful waterfalls, coffee plantations and fruit trees. The Playa camp has some facilities so we can cool off in the river. The category of slope is moderate.
SALKANTAY – MACHU PICCHU PLAYA SANTA TERESA – AGUAS CALIENTES
Starting early, we will walk along the road for about 45 minutes to take the pedestrian detour to the river valley Aobamba. The uphill will be approximately 2 hours, crossing a forest of native trees until the archaeological site of Llactapata, where we have a view of Machu Picchu and Apu Salkantay. We will continue down the road to cross the river Aobamba and reach the railway station at the hydroelectric plant. Here we will take our train, with the opportunity to travel to Machu Picchu village, Ollantaytambo or Cusco. For those who wish to visit Machu Picchu we can stay in a hotel in Aguas Calienes or use the municipal camp outside of it.
MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO
In the morning, we can take the first bus up to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu. After having an interesting guided tour of 2 hours around the archeological complex, you will have some free time to continue exploring the place on your own (optional climb of Huayna Picchu mountain aprox. 40 to 50 minutes). Return back to Machu Picchu Vilage. In the afternoon we will take the train back to Cusco.
CUSCO FREE
We will have the day free to perform various personal activities and visit different typical markets and museums in the city. At night we will attend a traditional dances show.
CUSCO – LIMA (CITY TOUR)
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Domestic flight to Lima. Arrived in the capital and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon we will enjoy a city tour.
LIMA – PLACE OF DESTINATION
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport and flight back to place of origin.
